KSNRI stands for the Kansas Sediment & Nutrient Reduction Initiative, a conservation program administered by the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Conservation (DOC).
The program provides financial incentives to agricultural producers and landowners who install approved conservation practices. These practices help reduce sedimentation, decrease nutrient runoff, and improve water quality in targeted, impaired watersheds across 29 eligible Kansas counties.

- Incentive Payments: Producers can receive a one-time, upfront incentive payment of $750 per acre for implementing selected practices above targeted watersheds.
- Approved Practices: Eligible Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) and riparian management practices include:
- Riparian forest buffers and vegetative cover crops.
- Streambank and channel bed stabilization.
- Fencing and herbaceous weed control.
